(For now.)</p> <p>However, I would like to take a few minutes this morning to admit I was wrong about something. On February 23, 2007 <a href="/woodfin-power-plant-shuler" target="_blank" title="Congressman Shuler is going to oppose the Woodfin oil-powered energy plant.">I wrote the following about a proposed oil-burning powerplant in the neighboring town of Woodfin</a>:</p> <blockquote style="background-color: #ccffff"><p>&quot;Personally, I&#39;m of the opinion that the plant is a done-deal, and the time for public comment and protest has already passed;&quot;</p> </p></blockquote> <p>Well, thanks to the hard work of bloggers and organizers - <a href="http://nonewwoodfinpowerplant.blogspot.com/2007/03/full-text-of-buncombe-county-board-of.html" target="_blank" title="Full Text of Buncombe County Board of Commissioners Letter to the NCUC">it turns out there will be no powerplant</a>!</p> <p><img src="/modules/tinymce/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-surprised.gif" alt="Surprised" title="Surprised" /></p> <p>Yay!</p> <p>Clearly, I underestimated the dedication of community activists to work within the system to accomplish their goals.</p> <p>Good job!</p> <p>I also got a letter from a certain Woodfin administrator - <em>let&#39;s just call him &#39;Mr. Y&#39;</em> - who, rightfully, admonished me for my post via email and requested I: &quot;(update my) blog to reflect a more accurate picture.&quot;</p> <p>Well, Mr Y.
